Listen to the eagerly-anticipated first single by the underground club music Voltron.
Future Brown brings together longtime friends Asma Maroof, Daniel Pineda, Fatima Al Qadiri, Lit City’s J-Cush, and a revolving cast of vocalists. First up: Chicago upstart Tink (who is in-demand these days), who dazzles on ‘Wanna Party’ (the track also features additional production by MikeQ).
The bass-heavy single is littered with church bells and jumpy percussion, and it finds Tink alternating between sultry and combative: “Feel that up in your chest? / Bitch better move like a fucking reflex / Imma wile out like I’m strapped in the chest / if you want some you can be my guest.”
According to Complex, Future Brown’s album will also feature Shawnna, Maluca, Ian Isiah and Kelela. Good timing on this one: we just spoke with Maroof and Pineda (aka Nguzunguzu) about a whole host of projects.
