It might not seem like the most obvious match, but Bay Area cloud rappers Main Attrakionz have put their molasses-slow signature on ‘Californiyeah’ from dance punk band !!! (or Chk Chk Chk, if you like).

Of course, !!!’s original was a little too chirpy, so Squadda B and Mondre M.A.N. have pushed down the tempo, relegating it to a hypnotic crawl and then layering their characteristic wooly rhymes over the top. Smartly keeping in cuts of the original track’s chorus, the remix manages to straddle two worlds admirably, and if it gets Main Attrakionz out to a legion of dance punk devotees then it’s a job well done.
