Jimmy Edgar‘s Ultramajic imprint bears more strange fruit. 

Edgar’s bespoke label has just launched the Metaphysix series – a string of releases designed to showcase works exploring different psychological themes and thought systems. The first instalment, Mentalism, features production between two mysterious artists: “elusive” Aden on side A, and “rotating group of Detroit natives” and mooted Dopplereffekt affiliates on side B. Whatever the real names of the producers – and you won’t need brains the size of jumbo jets to work out what’s going on here – they’ve turned in four very palatable slabs of machine-tooled electro and tech house.
