Madlib‘s back, and from the sound of new single ‘Black Widow’ he’s ready to flip the script yet again. Not content with having conquered half of the known genres in the world already, Rock Konducta Vol.1 is the prolific producer’s exploration of rock music, and with ‘Black Widow’ there’s more than just a suggestion that ‘Lib’s touching on rather psychedelic territory.

Think Sabbath-strength riffage backed by the kind of wyrd-world noodling that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Popol Vuh jam and you’ll have a good idea of Madlib’s headspace on this one – bring on the full-length.
