This week on FACT we profiled two very different, equally compelling artists to have recently emerged from the USA’s rudely healthy psychedelic underground: synth-wielding dreamweaver Oneohtrix Point Never and beach-friendly pop auteur Washed Out.

FACT mixes came from DirtyBird’s bumping house maestro Justin Martin and up-and-coming dubstep producer Fantastic Mr Fox, who has been collaborating on a new project with Jamie xx.

In news we reported on exciting upcoming releases and reissues from Shed, the Moritz Von Oswald Trio, No Age, Four Tet & Mala, Daphne Oram, Michael Nyman, Queens of The Stone Age, Ikonika, Aardvarck, Superpitcher, Demdike Stare, Theo Parrish and The Hundred In The Hands. We also found time to deliver a track-by-track review of the new MIA album reviewed the 2010 Sonar festival in words and pictures.

Reviews-wise, we got stuck into the latest from Big Boi, Martyn, Burzum, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Zola Jesus, The Drums and Oval.
