The artist behind ‘I’m Officially A Rapper’ is now officially a hater.

Last week, four-time Wimbledon champ Serena Williams was outed as a closet rapper with the release of a privately recorded hip-hop track. For all the naff tennis-indebted couplets (“In the court I serve them up/No subpoena”), Williams’ efforts were actually pretty palatable. AllHipHop now report that Williams feels somewhat slighted about the leak.

In an interview with the Atlanta Black Star, Williams was on the attack. Her tone, it ought to be said, comes over as impish rather than infuriated: “Well, I was in the studio with friends and I wanted to do something and so they said – do this and it was for me. The next thing I know — that was one or two years ago and then I read online that I was a rapper and so my back-stabbing friends did that to me and so if I see them, I will act like a rapper — if you can get my drift.”
