The Death Waltz Recording Company shows no sign of flagging in its hectic reissues schedule.

The label, run by Rough Trade’s Spencer Hickman, has already put out deluxe vinyl editions of the soundtracks to John Carpenter’s Escape From New York and Prince of Darkness, as well as an assortment of other horror stalwarts including Zombi 2 and Let the Right One In.

The latest in the deluge of OSTs to be reissued are those of Carpenter’s cult horror sequels Halloween II and III. Originally released in 1981 and 1982 respectively, the John Carpenter/Alan Howarth soundtracks to these two films benefitted from the fresh wave of affordable analogue synthesisers introduced to the market in the early 80s, and represent early forays into a soundworld now familiar to audiences across the spectrum of popular music.

The two soundtracks will be pressed to coloured vinyl in a limited edition of 1000 each, with sleevenotes by Howarth along with Brandon Schaefer and Jay Shaw, and exclusive artwork from Schaefer and Shaw. Both are set for release on October 15.
