As previously announced, The xx will team up with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra today as part of a new concert series.

The band has been commissioned by the BBC to write an original work with composer Alex Baranowski. The concert is part of the second BBC Philharmonic Presents… festival, a free series of September gigs held across various venues in the North of England. The series will feature Richard Hawley, an evening of songs from James Bond films hosted by Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo, and a Miles Davis night.

The xx will perform at the Spa Bridlington. Stream the performance as part of Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show starting at 8:00PM BST/3:00PM EST.
