Aphotic adventurers Dark Sky are back with a new release.

The South London trio emerged as one of the UK underground’s more heterogenous production units around the turn of the decade. Their early singles for the likes of Black Acre and Blunted Robots tilted from 2-step to creolized house to skewiff beat experiments; see 2010’s throbbing calling card ‘Reflex’ for a particularly compelling example of their talents. Subsequent releases have emerged on Modeselektor’s 50Weapons (the Radius EP) and Black Acre (this year’s impressive Black Rainbows).

50Weapons have now announced a new 12″ from the trio, titled Myriam. The disc, cover art of which is above, features four new tracks. Lead cut ‘Shutter Speed’ has been cropping up in the group’s mixes for the last few months; a spartan, stuttering number, ‘Shutter Speed’ takes the sound palette of Year Zero grime and applies it to a house framework.

Myriam will drop on December 7. A snippet of the track is available below, as is the artwork and tracklisting.

Shutter Speed
