Update 2: TMZ reports that Lil Wayne “began to convulse” on a flight from Texas to Los Angeles but was immediately diverted to Louisiana, where Wayne was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.

Update: It appears Lil Wayne is out of the woods. A statement from his management: “Lil Wayne was successfully released from the hospital after being treated for a severe migraine and dehydration. He is at home on doctor mandated rest and will return to work soon. He appreciates all of his fans for their support and love.” [via Complex]

Lil Wayne has reportedly suffered some form of seizure whilst on board a plane yesterday.

The private jet was forced to make an emergency landing in Texas on Thursday after the rapper started exhibiting “seizure-like symptoms”. According to TMZ,  the rapper was subsequently taken to hospital, where he was kept for several hours before being discharged in the early evening. He is reportedly doing “better”, according to an unnamed source in his entourage.

The incident has striking parallels with a similar incident almost exactly a year ago, when Maybach Music Group head honcho Rick Ross suffered a series of debilitating seizures whilst on a plane. Lil Wayne recently revealed he’s recorded around 90 unheard songs with Dr. Dre.
