Is the world ready for an EDM reality show? It’s time to find out.

As Mixmag points out, a new website has recently sprung up online. Its name? EDM Casting, and it’s dedicated to casting for “the first electronic dance music reality / competition show”. Even better, it appears to have been set up by Doron Ofir, the company behind Jersey Shore, whose plastic-haired protagonist Pauly D [above] is now an EDM star in his own right and recently scored a top 10 slot on Forbes‘ list of the world’s highest-earning DJs.

The questionnaire applicants have to fill in is a trip in itself, featuring questions such as “Would you consider yourself a “technical expert” or “creative performer”?”, “What obstacles have you had to overcome to pursue your dream of becoming a DJ?” and “What are your best assets? Physical, material and social”.

Given that Simon Cowell’s DJ Idol dream was dashed around this time last year, we’re looking forward to this – Skrillex, Diplo and Pauly himself for the judge slots?
