Björk's Kickstarter cancelled after reaching just 4% of goal

Apparently, there wasn’t much of an appetite to expand Biophilia to new platforms.

Just last month, Björk launched a Kickstarter to bring her latest album/app Biophilia to new platforms, in an effort to grow its related education program. Now, it appears that those plans have been cancelled, as 263 backers pledged “only” £15,370 of the project’s lofty £375,000 goal.

This could raise questions about world-renowned artists such as Björk using platforms like Kickstarter to support initiatives that might better funded by wealthy individuals or the artists themselves. More likely, the project will probably just be filed away as a misstep by the Icelandic artist. [via The Awl]
