Lovers of neon-flecked bass music rejoice; Hyetal is due to return with a brand new full length Modern Worship on May 20, and from the sounds of it, it’s going to be worth the wait.

Shifting from Black Acre to the True Panther imprint, David Corney has provided us with a taster of the record with ‘Northwest Passage’, which features London-based singer-songwriter Gwilym Gold in apparently only the first of a host of collaborative tracks.

Continuing the 80s-influenced epic cinematics of his previous full-length Broadcast, Corney’s production finds a fitting foil in Gold’s richly textured vocals, and the track ends up coming across like a bizarrely comfortable hybrid of Animal Collective and Other People Place, which can only be a good thing. Needless to say, our excitement level for the full-length has just shot up.
