No, this is not important news. Yes, it is very stupid. No, that’s not going to stop us posting it.

French record store DDD this month host a showcase of the Mathematics label, headlined by house spaceman Jamal Moss, a.k.a. Hieroglyphic Being. Now along with the usual methods of promotion – Facebook event page, Resident Advisor entry – they’ve taken the step of overdubbing one of Brit comedy I’m Alan Partridge‘s most famous scenes (yes, the “DAN!” one) to be about Jamal Moss [above]. All fun and games until everyone’s shouting “JAMAL!” throughout Moss’s set, we guess, but these are the kind of risks you have to take in the name of promotion.

Partridge, we dare say, won’t take offense either: his links with France run pretty deep.
