Death Grips break up

The unpredictable act call it a day.

Just a month after releasing the first part of a surprise album, the Sacramento rap-punks have taken to Facebook to break the news (written, in true Death Grips fashion, on a napkin).

“We are now at our best and so Death Grips is over,” they wrote, adding that the band “was and always has been a conceptual art exhibition anchored by sound and vision”.

All scheduled live dates have been cancelled, prompting Trent Reznor, who was due to bring the duo on tour with Nine Inch Nails later this year, to tweet: “sorry everyone… why would I have ever thought those dudes could keep it together?”

Their forthcoming album the powers that b will still be released later this year, however. Check out the full message below.
