Inspired by internet traveling through undersea cables, Brooklyn’s Zula rethought their entire musical approach to become Zula/annex.

While half of the Brooklyn psych band Zula were putting the final touches on their new LP, cousins Henry and Nate Terepka took the time to record a new EP of their own as Zula/annex. Inspired by the image of internet speeding through undersea fiber-optic cables, the duo play with the themes of technology and water creatively. Shifting to a significantly more electronic set up the Terepkas began experimenting with different ways to blend their digital and natural worlds. Filtering and distorting all their vocals through recorded Skype calls and crushing generic synth samples through analog filters the band created something that sounds pastoral even while the digital destruction bears down. Stream the entire EP below and grab it March 10 via Inflated Records.
