The series producers have just put out a casting call for extras in Louisiana.

Kanye West has agreed to supervise the music for a new US TV series about slaves travelling through the Underground Railroad. Underground follows a group of slaves who escape a Georgia plantation to attempt the 600-mile journey to freedom, aided along the way by an abolitionist couple running a station on the Underground Railroad, the network of safe houses that helped escaped slaves journey north to free states.

As Project Casting notes, Kanye has been confirmed as executive producer on the music for the 10-episode series, which stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Christopher Meloni and Aldis Hodge and was written by Misha Green and Joe Pokaski, the writers behind Heroes. Filming starts on April 13 and casting directors are currently looking for extras on location in Louisiana – if you’re local, try your luck. The show is expected to premiere on WGN America next spring.

In other Kanye news, you can now get your hands on a Yeezus-adjusted Bible, and the ‘New Slaves’ rapper is currently lending a hand on Justin Bieber’s comeback album. [via NME]
