The Las Vegas coroner says there’s no evidence B. B. King was poisoned before he died of natural causes in May.

Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg said on Monday that an autopsy requested by the blues legend’s 11 adult children shows the cause of death was a combination of Alzheimer’s disease and other physical conditions.

Through their attorney Larissa Drohobyczer, King’s daughters Karen Williams and Patty King alleged that their father’s business manager, LaVerne Toney, and his personal assistant, Myron Johnson, hastened his death. A legal representative for King’s estate, Brent Bryson, called the claims defamatory and libelous.

The coroner’s ruling closes the official investigations of King’s death. The musical icon passed away at his Las Vegas home on May 14 aged 89.

King’s longtime business manager LaVerne Toney was recently given sole control over his estate. [via The Guardian]
