Slackk’s Sulk Records has so far focused on melody-heavy grime EPs (well, that and Patrice & Friends), but the label spreads its wings on its latest release.

We don’t know anything about Van Ness, other than it’s the name of a character from Denis Johnson’s 1998 book Already Dead: A California Gothic. This release is billed as the OST to that book, so we’re suspecting a bit of myth-making at play in terms of the artist’s identity, but who cares who it is – it sounds excellent.
