Big Kap, DJ for the Notorious B.I.G., dies at 45.

This morning, Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex took to Instagram to announce that iconic New York DJ Big Kap has died after reportedly suffering a heart attack. Born Keith Carter, Kap was a prominent figure at ’90s hot spot The Tunnel, NYC’s preeminent hip-hop club and the launching pad for a legion of classic tracks for both established and up-and-coming artists. In 1999, he and Flex released a compilation named after the club which featured a 1995, pre-East Coast-West Coast beef freestyle from 2Pac and the Notorious B.I.G.
