John Carpenter says he “might even do the music.”

David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, All the Real Girls) and Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down, Hot Rod) have signed on for the long-buzzed about Halloween reboot, Bloody Disgusting reports.

Gordon Green will direct and co-write the script alongside McBride. They will also executive produce the project under their Rough House Pictures alongside horror powerhouse Jason Blum and Blumhouse Productions.

Gordon Green and McBride have worked together on HBO shows Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals and films like stoner comedy Pineapple Express and the more serious All the Real Girls. So how will the duo fare with an esteemed horror franchise?

“David and Danny both came to my office recently with Jason Blum and shared their vision for the new movie and…WOW. They get it,” Carpenter wrote on Facebook to announce their addition to the team. “I think you’re gonna dig it. They blew me away. I might even do the music. Maybe. It could be kind of cool.”

Carpenter also announced the film will debut on October 18, 2018. Fingers crossed!
