Scottish post-rockers and recent FACT mixers Mogwai have signed to Seattle label Sub Pop for the North American release of their next album.

On their personal website, the band claim they are “happy and proud” that Sub Pop will be releasing the record, and also let out that “the album is currently being mixed in Glasgow at Castle of Doom studios by Paul Savage for an early 2011 release.” Rock Action Records, Mogwai’s own label, will be releasing it in Europe.

Mogwai’s Barry Burns recently spoke to FACT, revealing that the new album was made “in a gloriously dull industrial estate outside of Glasgow”, and speaking about other Mogwai projects, including “a 20 minute piece of music [written] for the artists Douglas Gordon and Olaf Nicolai for a new project in Germany which will see the light of day soon.”
