Now given that the success of December’s White Label Classics retrospective has led to upcoming live bookings at Fabric and new festival Pleasure Principle, we’re taking the death of Ruff Sqwad with a pinch of salt, but if ‘Cold’, a new video dropped last night, is to be Rapid et al’s final hurrah then it’s no bad way to go out. Sure, it’s cheesy as all hell, but Ruff Sqwad were by their own admission restless romantics, and if ever a grime crew’s final video was going to feature God, AutoTune and the group’s members looking longingly at a camera on a London roof, it’s them.
