The Electric Lady meets the reunited indie oddballs on the BBC.

Following last week’s must-see performance by Kanye West, the second episode of the new series of Later… with Jools Holland featured sets from US retrofuturist Janelle Monáe and the updated line-up of the Pixies.

The programme can be watched in full from the UK via BBC iPlayer, or check out two videos below, of Monáe performing ‘Q.U.E.E.N’ from her new album The Electric Lady and the Pixies sans Kim Deal performing ‘What Goes Boom’. It’s not the first time the pop singer has crossed paths with the indie legends, with her recent duet with Miguel seeming to borrow the riff from the latter’s ‘Where Is My Mind?’
