A 180g pressing 65 million years in the making.

Revealed just before Christmas, Austin label Mondo’s deluxe reissue of John Williams’ score to Jurassic Park is one soundtrack reissue that should appeal to more than just a crack team of obsessive collectors. Steven Spielberg’s 1993 dino flick has a reserved seat in the hearts of anyone who was of an impressionable age in that era, and even someone humming the unforgettable theme should be enough to take you right back to a world of Velociraptors, T-Rexes and a neurotic Jeff Goldblum.

Now Mondo have revealed their entire plan for the package – not only are they doing their customary high quality pressing, but they’re doing two versions of the record. One will have artwork by JC Richard and come on black vinyl, and the other will have art from Dan McCarthy and be presented on gorgeous amber vinyl (what else?). There’s also a super limited ‘Dilophosaurus’ vinyl (it’s red, yellow and green) which will be randomly inserted into the version with the JC Richard artwork.

Both versions will be distributed exclusively via Mondo’s own website (they’re not going to be available in any record stores!) from June 11. [via Modern Vinyl]
