In an elliptical Facebook post, Miami doom-mongerer SpaceGhostPurrp has suggested he might be throwing in the towel as a solo artist.

The message, which went up last night, claims that the rapper “won’t be doing this shit no more” , and suggests disdain for the “shady ass rap game…its [sic] like monkey see monkey do”. The post, included below, also suggests that SGP will be focusing his energies on pushing his Raider Klan crew – a process inaugurated with the recent release of the Raider Klan Presents : 2.7.5. Greatest Hits Vol.1  primer.

If the rapper/producer does call it a day for now, he’s had a banner year, releasing a stone-cold classic mixtape and releasing his debut LP on 4AD. Still, we’d hold off starting the funeral pyre quite yet: SGP’s Twitter feed is full of similarly grand but hollow proclamations, and hip-hop ‘retirement’ is, obviously, a fairly labile concept at the best of times.
