A$AP Rocky delays album until 2013

His full-length album delayed yet again, Rocky cites issues with mastering and clearing samples.

In an interview with Missinfo.tv, the Harlem up-and-comer says that his full-length debut, LongLiveA$AP will be delayed until the first quarter of 2013. Originally slated for a July 2012 release, the album was subsequently pushed to September 11 and then October 31.

A bit dubiously, Rocky says that issues mastering and clearing samples are holding up the album. In his own words:

“The issue with my album is I got things on it that’s so out of this world that it’s taking so long to get mastered. That’s the issue, and I refuse to take anything off. It’s complete, everything is being mastered and cleared right now. Its just so hard to get things cleared, because you got to find people to clear samples. It takes a long time and that’s why it keeps getting pushed back from Halloween to September 11th. I want to say it’s looking like top of the year, first quarter because it makes no sense to put out a album in December.”

The continuing delays threaten to let the air out of A$AP Rocky’s buzz balloon. The rapper recently released ‘Fuckin’ Problem,’ where he tries to find breathing room on a track that features heavyweights Drake, 2Chainz, and Kendrick Lamar (a rising rapper whose debut is already being called a modern classic).
