Madlib to release Rock Konducta album later this month

A highly anticipated Madlib album – no, not that one – is set to arrive in a matter of weeks.

The producer‘s much-loved Beat Konducta project hasn’t thrown out an album since 2010’s Madlib Medicine Show instalment Beat Konducta in Africa. Earlier this year, ‘Lib released the scruffy, scuzzy Rock Konducta 45 7″, and whispers of a Rock Konducta full-length correspondingly began to circulate, although no other music has been forthcoming as yet.

As RBMA point out, Piccadilly Records are hosting a listing for the album, claiming that the record will arrive later this month. If the details are right, the record is due on December 16, and will see Madlib continue to consummate his ongoing love affair with Zambia’s rootsy “Zamrock” sound. It’s not the first Madlib-affiliated record to pointedly deal with rock textures – his brother Oh No impressed with 2007’s Dr No’s Oxperiment, cobbled together exclusively from European psyche.
