Halleluhwah.

Following the amazing TV footage of a young Kraftwerk that surfaced last month, a bumper 80-minute recording of krautrock pioneers Can’s concert at the same venue has now emerged. At this point in their career the band were still pretty fresh-faced – 1969’s Monster Movie hadn’t done much, and the far more enjoyable Soundtracks was still brand new.

The career defining Tago Mago was still some time off, and seeing the band at this point in their career is a rare treat. The lineup was Damo Suzuki on vocals, Holger Czukay on bass, Irmin Schmidt on keyboard, Michael Karoli on guitar and the incredible Jaki Liebezeit on drums.

Take a look at the concert (which sadly appears to cut abruptly at the 79 minute mark) below. [via Dangerous Minds]
