The singer is due in court next month.

Chris Brown has been released from prison on a $250,000 bail after being arrested for assault with a deadly weapon yesterday following a lengthy standoff with police.

Brown was accused by Baylee Curran of holding a gun on her following a disagreement during a party at his house. Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, called the charges “demonstrably false” on Twitter and the singer himself denied them on Instagram. In a series of now-deleted videos, Brown denied the charge, bragged the accusation would only bring him “better publicity” and then turned to promoting his new single.

“Do you all honestly think I want this and think I caused this?” Curran said in a video released on Twitter. “If someone put a gun to your head, what would you do – call the police?”

This is not even close to Brown’s first assault charge. He was infamously charged with felony assault after severely beating Rihanna in 2009. He and his entourage have since had altercations with both Drake and Frank Ocean.
