A former FACT intern is next month premiering a theatrical production soundtracked by Hessle Audio‘s Joe and Pangaea.

It’s not often we get to write a sentence like that. But it’s true. Felix Mortimer runs the 19;29 "collaborative performance company" with Susanna Davies-Crook, and to date they’ve put on a number of acclaimed productions, including one of Sarah Kane’s controversial Blasted in San Francisco and Leeds.

Their latest venture is HALL. Here’s what their press release says about it:

"All buildings are designed with a purpose. Over time, as water infiltrates the walls and rots the physical foundations, this purpose warps and is gradually corrupted. The space 19;29 has infiltrated was a municipal building, designed to combine administration and entertainment. It became a site for military intelligence operations in a time of conflict. Decades later, it is all but emptied of its many former powers. We visit this space on the brink of yet another change, an awakening. We invite you to witness this, so that you can remember.

"19;29 present an exploration of power, purpose and choice at a secret location in North London. In their typical style they have take over a heritage space and drawn stories and themes from the fabric of the building itself. Scripted by writer in residence Lowri Jenkins, this piece challenges the fate of the individual in the face of the monolithic regime."

The soundtrack will be material recorded by Pangaea, the dubstep/garage producer who runs the Hessle Audio label with Ramadanman and Ben UFO. He’s teamed up with another Hessle, artist Joe, to create new music and sounds in response to the HALL environment.
