A large chunk of William Basinski’s back catalogue has been re-pressed, including all four parts of The Disintegration Loops.

The Disintegration Loops remains Basinski’s best known work, a four-volume tape loop epic finished on September 11, 2001 (as the story goes, Basinski and his friends were listening to the project on the roof of his Brooklyn apartment as the Twin Towers collapsed), but it’s far from the composer’s only worthy record. Also re-pressed and now available again are Water Music I & II, Melancholia, 92982 and Variations for Piano and Tape [via Boomkat].
