Husband and wife duo UMA make together exemplary electronic collages.

The German music/life partners get tarred with the ‘electro-pop’ brush, but their music shares more with Broadcast than it does with, say, The Hundred In The Hands. The pair have announced their debut EP on Enraptured Records, and it features a very special guest indeed.

Silver Apples, aka Simeon Coxe III, crop up on lead track ‘Drop Your Soul’. If you’re not familiar with the Apples’ run of late 1960s LPs (and your really, really should be), each is a treasure trove of staggeringly prescient, oscillator-heavy psych-pop. Japanese sound manipulator Yosi Horikawa will also contribute to the UMA record.

You can watch a video for the Silver Apples-augmented ‘Drop Your Soul’ below. The five-track EP will arrive this summer.
