UK footworkophile Addison Groove is set to return with a new release on Modeselektor’s 50Weapons.

Addison Groove erked onto the scene with the almighty ‘Footcrab’ in 2010, and followed it with less incendiary cuts like ‘Work It’ and ‘Make Um Bounce’. We weren’t especially enamoured with Addison Groove’s recent LP, Transistor Rhythm; although well put together, it seemed to lack the spark of ingenuity evident in those early singles (or, for that matter, Williams’ work as Headhunter). His last transmission was the dorky ‘Manic Miner’ on Modeselektor’s Modeselektion 2 compilation, which injected some valued silliness into the mix.

Addison Groove now has a new EP on the way on regular home 50Weapons. Details are pretty sparse at the moment, but we know that the record will be called Adventures In Rainbow Country and will drop on September 14. Sample track ‘Button Moon’, built around a mangled Missy sample and wiggly hoover hook, certainly appears to have a touch of lunacy about it, which augurs well. An excerpt is available to stream below.
