The Brainfeeder beatsmith has released ‘Flange Face,’ the first single off his upcoming album Breakthrough.
When ‘Flange Face’ first cropped up last month, we called the track “a fairly genteel affair” compared to Gaslamp Killer’s earlier work, despite its “regimented percussion track and buzzsaw bassline.” Today, the collaboration with composer Miguel Atwood-Ferguson sees a proper release.
The single offers a club-ready edit, appropriately named after Low End Theory, GLK’s trendsetting San Francisco LA-SF-Japan club night. Rounding out the single is ‘Seven Years of Bad Luck for Fun (with Dimlite).’ ‘Flange Face’ precedes Breakthrough; GLK’s debut album is due September 17.
