The Saint Etienne reissue program continues, with an “updated” version of 1996 remix compilation Casino Classics and singer Sarah Cracknell’s solo album, Lipslide, now penciled in for 2012 releases.
The British band, who broke through with 1991’s album Foxbase Alpha, have had the majority of their back catalogue re-released over the last couple of years. The original Casino Classics was a double-disc affair, but the reissued version comes in several formats: a 2-disc deluxe version, a 4-disc limited edition set, and a digital release, which features a further 10 remixes (54 in total). Each of the Casino Classics reissues features remixes released after ’96, with Richard X, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Masters at Work and more featuring.
The reissued version of Lipslide, meanwhile, comes in the form of an expanded and remastered double-disc affair, with CD2 focussing on demos and previously unreleased material. You can stream the classic Autechre remix of ‘Like a Motorway’, which was reissued on 12″ last year, below.
