Dave Grohl resumes drumming duties on new Queens of the Stone Age album

The Foo Fighter / Crooked Vulture rejoins Josh Homme’s stoner metal act.

Dave Grohl (who also drummed for some band during the 90s) helped record QOTSA’s 2002 effort Songs for the Deaf and briefly toured with the band. Antiquiet reports that moments before Homme told Radio 1’s Zane Lowe that drummer Joey Castillo had left the band, the band posted the below photo to Facebook, which suggests that Grohl is in the studio with the band. The site confirms that Grohl will be handling drumming duties on the band’s forthcoming album.

In addition, CoS points to a tweet that suggests the band will have the album out prior to their appearance at the UK’s Download Festival, which takes place in June 2013.
