Battle Box unveiled

Robert Del Naja has unveiled a new project, Battle Box, which will aim to “fuse music, art and discourse across one-off live events, exhibitions and exclusive vinyl releases.”

Del Naja, aka 3D, is best known as co-founder of Massive Attack. His first Battle Box offering, Battle Box 001, is a two-track 12″ edition crafted by The Vinyl Factory, pressed on 180g heavyweight white vinyl with hand-stamped labels. It features a brand new track, produced by Del Naja, and featuring Elbow’s Guy Garvey, which the VF describe as “a bass-heavy electronic masterstroke reminiscent of Massive Attack at their most sonically adventurous”. Guy Andrews (Hemlock, Hotflush) provides a remix on the flip.

The 12″, out 12/12/12, is available to pre-order now, exclusively from vfeditions.com. 30 copies have individual sleeves made by 3D – 15 drawn in biro, and 15 with Paint Pen, all signed. The first 30 people to pre-order a copy will receive one of these.
