Gilles Peterson’s website has posted footage of an intimate performance of ‘Noche Sueños’, from Mala in Cuba.

The first full-length from Mala, co-founder of seminal dubstep clubnight and record label DMZ, Mala in Cuba represented a meeting point between live Cuban instrumentation and dubstep, with BBC 6 Music’s Peterson as a guide of sorts. The results ranged from quiet soul to ground-shaking dance music, and were toured across Europe last year to great interest.

This video shows Mala and Danay Suarez performing the album’s ‘Noche Sueños’ at soundtrack prior to November’s live show at London’s Brixton Electric. It’s worth a watch for dubstep and soul fans alike, as is FACT TV’s interview with Peterson and Mala from last year. You can watch that here.
