The controversial artist finds comfort in corporate synergy.

Last year, Lana Del Rey signed up for corporate gigs with both H&M and Jaguar. For the clothing line, she posed for a lookbook and covered ‘Blue Velvet’ for a particularly Lynchian advertisement.

To help launch the Jaguar F-type, the singer presents ‘Burning Desire’. Shots of Del Rey mingle with paint-by-numbers car commercial clips and the type of found footage that dominated her earliest videos. In that way, the synergy isn’t that distracting or off-putting, especially when lyrics like “cruising down Hollywood and Vine” wouldn’t be out of place on any other LDR song.

Del Rey has returned to the studio to work on the follow-up to Born to Die, which was one of FACT’s top albums of 2012.
