Peter Murphy announces world tour; will only play Bauhaus material

Before he releases his tenth solo album, the former Bauhaus frontman will embark on a massive world tour.

Consequence of Sound reports that Peter Murphy will celebrate the 35th anniversary of Bauhaus’ founding by only playing the band’s songs. The Bauhaus-exclusive set is a first for Murphy.

“Since 2006, I have included my Bauhaus work into my solo work as a way of tipping my hat to my own audience…those who discovered my early work as well as new and old fans of those years strong wishes to hear the music of my band crackle and spark in the live arena,” Murphy says via press release. “Being the foremost advocate of this Bauhaus work, I decided the time was ripe to at last give a pure Bauhaus experience in one Mr. Moonlight world tour. Mr. Moonlight is alive and well, don’t doubt it.”

Murphy will sandwich a European tour between two stints in North America. The dates are below, after footage of Murphy playing ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’ with Trent Reznor and TV on the Radio.
