Sample a pair of tracks from The Bug's forthcoming Filthy EP

Send the nippers to bed – here are two more tracks from Kevin Martin’s jet-black Filthy EP as The Bug.

Filthy will offer four tracks of lumbering mutant ragga, with guest spots confirmed from Danny Brown, King Midas Sound’s Kiki Hitomi, Daddy Freddy and regular collaborator Flowdan. Following on from pre-release leak ‘Dirty’, Ninja Tune have released a video featuring two unheard tracks from the disc, ‘Kill Them’ and ‘Louder’.

‘Kill Them’, led by Daddy Freddy’s something-under-the-bed flow, shares a lot of DNA with London Zoo‘s calling card ‘Skeng’. ‘Louder’, meanwhile, is the more forceful of the two, full of billowing reverb and led by an oddly perky hookline that wouldn’t have sounded out of place on Kraftwerk’s Computer World. The B&W video, meanwhile, is the stuff of night terrors – we’d advise watching with the lights on.

Filthy is out on May 28. A new The Bug full-length is expected before the end of the year.
