Ciara hit with legal papers over concert non-appearance...mid-way through performing at Pride

Kanye might be ramping up the American Psycho act, but if anything weirder than this happens in the live setting this month then we’ll be very impressed.

Last week, Ciara was scheduled to perform at West Hollywood gay club The Factory, but for whatever reason, it didn’t happen. According to Ciara’s rep, the ‘Body Party’ singer’s “commitment to perform at Los Angeles Gay Pride on Saturday night prevented her from making such a Friday night appearance. Despite being notified early last week that Ciara could not appear, the Factory continued to market and promote Ciara’s appearance.” According to the club, however, they had been left under the impression that Ciara would still be appearing, and were taking legal action against the star as a result.

Now, TMZ have posted that legal papers regarding the non-appearance have been served to Ciara… half-way through performing ‘Promise’ at last night’s Pride performance. Ciara, as you’d probably expect, tossed them right back – you can watch the video here.

Ciara’s new album, Ciara (formerly One Woman Army) is due out this July, and features appearances from Nicki Minaj, Future, Mike Will and more. You can watch Jacques Greene and How to Dress Well debate such questions as ‘Cassie or Ciara?’on FACT TV here.

We’ve embedded ‘Body Party’, Ciara’s fantastic recent single featuring Future and Mike Will, below.
