“What’s this?!”

As reported earlier this year, A-list composer Danny Elfman and gothic filmmaker Tim Burton are to celebrate their nearly three-decade-long partnership with a performance at London’s Albert Hall this October. But now there’s good news for non-Londoners – the show is set to go on tour, stopping at three other UK cities.

Elfman, who wrote the soundtrack to The Simpsons among many other hummable TV and movie tunes, worked with Burton to create the music for Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland and last year’s Frankenweenie.

On October 7, Elfman will sing in public for the first time in 18 years, accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra, to perform a selection of songs from the films. The show will then visit Leeds, Glasgow and Birmingham. Burton’s original production artwork and drawings from the films will be used as a visual backdrop to the performance. [via Planet Notion]

Danny Elfman’s Music From the Films of Tim Burton takes place on the following dates:

07/10 London, Royal Albert Hall
08/10 Leeds, First Direct Arena
09/10 Glasgow, The Hydro
10/10 Birmingham, NIA

And what the hell, here’s Jack Skellington discovering Christmas, from the minds of Elfman and Burton:
