The bail hearing for the former Death Row boss has been postponed to March.

Rap mogul Suge Knight has been in prison since being arrested following a fatal hit-and-run in Compton on 29 January. It followed an altercation that happened on the set of the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton, in which Knight’s friend Terry Carter was run over outside a nearby fast-food restaurant.

Knight’s lawyers have said the death was an accident, but prosecutors have charged Knight with murder and attempted murder, alleging actor Cle “Bone” Sloan – also injured in the incident – was an intended target.

Knight’s bail was set at $2 million, but as BBC News reports, his hearing has been put back to March, as prosecutors have asked for more time to review the evidence against him. Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Barnes said the hearing may include evidence of a “very large stack of uncharged crimes.” With Knight’s prior convictions, he could face life in prison if convicted.

Interestingly, TMZ has recently claimed that Dr. Dre didn’t ask permission to include Knight’s likeness in the Straight Outta Compton movie, and the fight was sparked when Knight visited the set to talk to Dre about how he was being portrayed.
