The cult director is playing with our hearts.

Terrible news from down under, as David Lynch has told an audience at a Brisbane Q&A session that there are “complications” with the proposed reboot of his much-adored TV series Twin Peaks. One of the fans present tweeted about Lynch’s comments.

The director also appeared on the Australian arts and culture show The Mix and was asked how he felt about returning to Twin Peaks, responding: “I haven’t returned yet and we’re still working on the contract, but I love the world of Twin Peaks and I love those characters. And I think it will be very special to go back into that world.”

Last year it was confirmed that Showtime would run nine new episodes of the show, with the action update to the present day (25 years on from the show’s second series, and the amount of time referenced in that series’ Black Lodge scenes).[via Complex]
