Last month Google Chrome added MIDI support, which means you can now use MIDI controllers to control browser-based instruments.

The Web-MIDI API is likely to be a bit of a mystery to many wanting to make use of it, but MIDI controller manufacturer Keith McMillen Instruments has just begun a series of tutorials about how to get to grips with the function. The first tells you how to set up your MIDI controller to work with your browser – future entries will teach you how to build synthesizers in your browser.

Check the guide out at the Keith McMillen website, or alternatively check out FACT’s guide to the best free music production software. [via RA]
