The legal battle between B.B. King’s children and his manager continues.

Four of B.B. King’s children have claimed the existence of a second will from the late blues guitarist.

The Associated Press reports that court documents filed by King’s daughters Patty King, Karen Williams, Rita Washington and Barbara Winfree on Tuesday (June 9) formally allege that a previous will exists, different to the one his business manager Toney is legal executor of.

Toney’s lawyer Brent Bryson said the allegations were “completely ludicrous” and “unsubstantiated by any true facts,” saying that he had no knowledge of the missing will.

A will dated January 18, 2007, and filed on May 20, 2015 names Toney as the sole executor of the estate. Another of King’s daughters, Riletta Mitchell, was listed second on the will, but she died in September 2014.

The claim comes after King’s daughters Patty King, Karen Williams, Rita Washington and Barbara Winfree alleged they were kept away from King during his last days, and that King’s manager LaVerne Toney and personal aide, Myron Johnson poisoned him.

While the four have not repeated the poisoning allegations in the court documents, they are alleging that Toney is unfit to become executor or representative of King’s estate. King’s daughters also claim that Toney moved over $1m out of his bank accounts.

King died last month aged 89. He had suffered from Type 2 diabetes for two decades, and had suffered a series of small strokes in the time leading up to his death. (via The Guardian)
