The release comes with an exclusive new interview with the famous composer.

In addition to providing a new update on their long awaited Twin Peaks reissues, Mondo announced the release of one of their favorite Ennio Morricone scores today.

The 1966 film The Big Gundown stars Lee Van Cleef (“The Bad” in the Morricone-scored classic The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly) and is called “one of the best spaghetti westerns of [the] era” by the company. The score comes remastered on two 45 rpm records and will include a new interview with the composer conducted especially for the release. Below you can look at the new artwork and hear a handful of the releases 25 tracks. Look for it release August 8 via Mondo.

In other news, Morricone will compose the score to Quentin Tarantino’s new film The Hateful 8 .
