The composer’s latest work could be the most alluring piece of Alien fanfiction you’ll hear.
The spectral sound-artist Stephan Mathieu has a new album out this Saturday that feels appropriate for Halloween. His new work, titled Before Nostromo, is inspired by the eerie sound design of Ridley Scott’s classic sci-fi nightmare Alien. Moving from ‘Stasis 1’ to ‘Stasis 8′, Mathieu makes a soundtrack to each of the doomed crew members’ dreams in the minutes before they awaken from hypersleep. The album is out October 31, but you can hear the dream of ‘Jonsey The Ship Cat’s’ below along with the 12-minute closer ‘Anamorphosis’.
